DAY BLOCK | PRAGUE HISTORY

Educational Benefits:

Students will learn about the impact of the Second World War on Czech lands, especially Jewish communities. They will visit key memorials and museums, helping them understand the human side of history, the dangers of totalitarian regimes, and the importance of remembrance and critical thinking.

Morning:

  • Meeting the guide at Old Town Square and introduction to Prague’s historical timeline
  • Guided walk through Old Town and Jewish Quarter
  • Topics: founding of Prague, Charles IV and medieval university, Jewish heritage

Afternoon:

  • Walk across Charles Bridge with legends and stories
  • Explore the Lesser Town (Malá Strana) and its historical atmosphere
  • Visit to Prague Castle complex with focus on royal and political history

Evening:

  • Dinner at a local restaurant
  • Evening walk along the Vltava River to see Charles Bridge beautifully lit up.

Meals:

  • Breakfast: At the hotel
  • Lunch: In a local restaurant or refreshment stop during the walk
  • Dinner: At the hotel or in a restaurant (depending on the group’s program)


Sites and museums visited:

  • Old Town Square – Astronomical Clock, historical heart of Prague (free)
  • Jewish Quarter – Old Jewish Cemetery, Spanish Synagogue (entry fee applies)
  • Charles Bridge – open-air historical monument (free)
  • Prague Castle – St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Royal Palace, Golden Lane (entry fee applies)

 

 


DAY BLOCK | ART & CULTURE

Educational benefits:

Students will explore the richness of Prague’s cultural and artistic scene – from traditional fine arts to modern street and conceptual art. The day encourages observation, creative thinking, and reflection on the role of art in public space and society.

Morning:

  • Walk through the historical center focused on architecture and visual details.
  • Visit to selected outdoor sculptures by David Černý with a themed activity: “What is the artist really saying?” – students observe and interpret each installation, discuss symbolism, provocation, and humor Suggested route: Hanging Man, Crawling Babies, Head of Kafka, Pissing Men, Horse (in Lucerna Passage)
  • Each stop includes a creative question or prompt for short reflection

Afternoon:

  • Workshop at Kunsthalle Praha – guided creative session based on current exhibitions (focus on modern and contemporary art)
  • Time for viewing gallery independently or in small groups with prompts for observation

Evening:

  • Classical music concert (e.g. in Mirror Chapel or Rudolfinum) or performance at a traditional black light theatre – a unique Czech cultural experience. 


Meals:

  • Breakfast: At the hotel
  • Lunch: Light lunch at or near Kunsthalle (café style or pre-booked menu)
  • Dinner: At the hotel or in a local restaurant before the evening performance


Sites and museums visited:

  • David Černý’s outdoor installations – various public locations (free)
  • Kunsthalle Praha – fee for entry and workshop 
  • Concert or black light theatre – for a fee

 


DAY BLOCK | FUN & ACTIVE

Educational benefits:

  • Students will explore both the well-known and lesser-known parts of Prague in a fun and active way.
  • They will discover green parks and local neighborhoods during a guided bike ride, visit an interactive museum, and learn Prague’s legends on a ghost tour.
  • The day helps students develop teamwork, creativity, and confidence while moving through different parts of the city.

  • Guided bike trip to the non-touristic areas of Prague. A relaxing ride through green spaces and quiet local streets.
  • Includes short stops for stories, photos, and group activities

  • Return to the city center and enjoy lunch (picnic or casual restaurant)
  • Visit the Museum of Illusions in Vodičkova Street – students take fun group photos and experience visual tricks and 3D effects
  • Short free time nearby

  • Ghost tour in Prague’s Old Town. Guided walk with spooky stories, legends, and mysterious places
  • A fun and exciting way to learn about Prague’s history from a different angle




Meals:

  • Breakfast: At the hotel
  • Lunch: Picnic lunch or local restaurant after the bike tour
  • Dinner: At the hotel or early dinner in the city before the ghost tour


Sites and museums visited:

  • Bike tour – bike rental and bike guide
  • Museum of Illusions – for a fee
  • Ghost tour – for a fee

DAY BLOCK | PRAGUE AND WWII HISTORY

Educational benefits:

Students will learn about the impact of the Second World War on Czech lands, especially Jewish communities. They will visit key memorials and museums, helping them understand the human side of history, the dangers of totalitarian regimes, and the importance of remembrance and critical thinking.

  • Transfer from Prague to Terezín Memorial and a guided tour of the Small Fortress – former Gestapo prison. Visit to the Ghetto Museum – life of Jewish prisoners, propaganda, children’s drawings
  • Short time for reflection or group discussion

  • Return to the city center and enjoy lunch (picnic or casual restaurant)
  • Visit the Museum of Illusions in Vodičkova Street – students take fun group photos and experience visual tricks and 3D effects
  • Short free time nearby
