Here’s a taste of what day in Rothernburg ob der Tauber could look like for a school group.

Morning:

  • Guided walking tour of Rothenburg ob der Tauber - Explore the medieval old town, towers, town wall, and main square. Hear local legends and insights into Rothenburg’s role in German history
  • Visit to the Medieval Crime Museum - Interactive and visual exhibits on medieval justice, punishment, and public order. Discussion opportunities around morality, power, and social norms

Afternoon:

  • Student Street Theatre Activity – “Life in Medieval Rothenburg” - Students are divided into teams and receive historical prompts. 1 hour for preparation (script, roles, and rehearsal). Each team performs a 3–5 minute scene using the city as their stage.

Evening:

  • Dinner in a local restaurant (group menu available)
  • Optional: Reflection discussion about the day with teacher (20–30 minutes)

Meals:

  • Breakfast: At the hotel
  • Lunch: packaed lunch 
  • Dinner: At local restaurant or a hotel


Sites and museums visited:

  • Rothenburg Old Town sights
  • Medieval Crime Museum (entry fee applies)
  • Student-led creative theatre workshop in public space
